PoE, short for Power over Ethernet, transmits electrical power and Ethernet data over Ethernet LAN cables. It enables powered devices (PDs), such as outdoor routers, IP cameras, wireless access points, and other network devices, to receive or send data and DC electric power through a single Ethernet cable.
